You are Incredible

I promise you, I did not know I had all of these marks, which someone in a yesterday deemed to be beautiful, until you pointed them out with with a trace of a finger.

“You are incredible”, you said, “I see you much better than you see yourself”. I giggled your words away, I thought they were a bit cheesy.

We both know that I am not incredible, physically or otherwise. I am as credible as one can be, as well as predictable and ordinary with all my aggression.

But we all see what we want to see and the more we age, the more we become selective as to what we want to see.

The more we understand what it is that we want to be seen in us, you see?

Now I know what you see by your rediscovery of the incredible in me.

Now that your shoulders are hunched with the burden of unthought-out thoughts and you are more handsome with the line etching the skin between your eyebrows.

Now, when the production of collagen in your body has reduced to a perishable minute dose and transformed a charming prince to a formidable king.

Now in your low tide, where all the shards of your marvellous shells and the preserved pollution in your seabed surface.

Now I see you much better, too. You are incredible.
